Stripped down version but nice
This is the third time my wife and I have seen Riverdance. We saw the original show at Radio City Music Hall and the 10th Anniversary show in Kansas City, MO. This version was much more scaled down with only two musians and a percussionist with the rest of the music from recordings. We greatly missed the eerie tone of the irish bagpipe and its solo was decently covered by the violinist. The Russian dance group was also taken down from three paired couples to two. They did add two new segments to the show that we have not seen before and they were enjoyable. The audience seemed to be more into the male centric routines than the female ones as the applause for the men was more robust than for the woman. We enjoyed the show and do recommend that folks go see it.
